SECTION 5: DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS
Only persons holding a valid and appropriate driver's license, authorized by the using department, and meeting the University's standard as specified by Transportation & Parking Services may operate a University owned or leased vehicle.
Any person who operates a University vehicle must be registered with Transportation & Parking Services for insurance purposes. It is the department's responsibility to ensure that drivers meet the qualifications specified below.
Minimum required qualifications for drivers are:
a.) 18 years of age or older (21 years or older for 15 passenger vans)
b.) Valid United States Drivers or Canadian Drivers License
c.) Driver must be a faculty, staff, or student employee of the University, or working in an official capacity for a department.
The University may, when assessing a driver's qualifications, obtain a copy of the official driving record of any registered driver from the applicable State. The composite driving record, both personal and professional, will be considered when assessing driver's qualifications.
