All parking on campus is allocated and signed for specific uses. Parking regulations are enforced and permits are required 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To promote safety, some restrictions are reduced after 4:00 p.m. weekdays and all day on weekends to encourage customers to use the close-in parking lots. Permits, however, must be displayed or vehicles should be parked at a meter or in pay facilities.
SURFACE LOTS
Faculty, staff and student parking is designated as “A,” “B,” and “C,” respectively (or “WA,” “WB,” or “WC” for West Campus).
WEST CAMPUS VS. CENTRAL CAMPUS
The West Campus parking boundary is designated as any area west of State Route 315, except for the Blankenship lot. West Campus permit holders must park in the parking lots located west of State Route 315 (except the Blankenship lot). West Campus permit holders may park on Central Campus in any non-restricted parking space between 4:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. and on weekends (Friday 4:00 p.m. through Monday 3:00 a.m.)*. This means that “A” permit holders do not have exclusive use of unrestricted “A” spaces 24 hours a day, but as all signs state - the general “rules enforced 24/7”.
*Please note: An exception to this rule occurs on Football Saturdays. There are lots on campus that are reserved strictly for football parking and all vehicles must be removed from these lots by 5:00AM. Any vehicle not removed by that time will be towed at the owners expense. For more information on this exception, please visit the Football parking page or e-mail us at tpinfo@osu.edu . |
METER PARKING
Meters are used in high-demand areas to facilitate short-term parking. Anyone can park at a meter on campus; however, the meter fees must be paid. Disability parking permits are valid in metered spaces, as long as the meter fee is paid. Some meters will only give a limited amount of time (i.e. some are limited to fifteen-minute parking, some are limited to a half-hour, etc.). Time limits are noted on each meter. The meters will continue to accept money, even after the maximum time limit has been reached. Therefore, you may deposit enough money for two hours, but receive only the time designated by the meter.
Due to 24-hour operations of campus, meters are enforced 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
To report a meter that is broken, contact 292-9341, and identify the location and meter number found on the meter pole. If the meter in question is a double-head meter, please also specify which meter head is malfunctioning (ex. north head, south head, etc.)
