EMERGENCY TELEPHONES
There are more than 100 emergency telephones located around campus to provide direct access to the University Police Communications Center. These phones are clearly visible by the bright blue light atop the black phone pole labeled:
Emergency / Police / Medical / Fire
In the event of any emergency, push the button to activate the phone and speak directly with a police dispatcher. Use these phones in the event of a fire, medical or other emergency, or to report suspicious activity.
ESCORTS TO, FROM AND AROUND CAMPUS
The Student Safety and Escort Service is provided to enhance the safety of students, faculty, and staff within the campus area. Student Escort personnel carry radios for direct contact with University Police and will provide a walking team or a van to assist you in traveling to and from campus destinations. Because of limited resources, this service does not provide assistance for travel between off-campus locations nor is it a taxi service. Call 292-3322 to request an escort.

PARKING SAFETY TIPS
The West Campus overnight parking lot, WC5, is restricted to students living in the dorms. This lot is under surveillance. Transportation & Parking Services and OSU Police regularly patrol WC5 and all lots on campus.
To help secure your vehicle and your belongings, Transportation & Parking Services encourages you to do the following:
1. Lock your vehicle every time you leave it.
2. Discourage theft by parking in well-lit spaces and high pedestrian traffic areas.
3. Report suspicious people to security or booth attendants; include as much information about the person, location, and/or type of car involved.
4. Have your keys in hand when approaching your vehicle. Look inside your vehicle prior to entering it.
5. Do not leave tempting valuables or property visible inside the car. Lock these items in the trunk.
6. Keep your parking ticket with you when in a parking garage. The absence of a parking ticket will impede auto theft if someone tries to exit the garage with your vehicle. You can write the level and row where you parked on your ticket for easy reference.
7. Avoid walking alone at night unless absolutely necessary.
8. Walk purposefully, know where you are going, project a no-nonsense image.
9. Call the OSU Student Safety and Escort Service at 292-3322 to be escorted to your on-campus destination.
