Med Center Express Will Run 52 Weeks Per Year
Recognizing that many staff do not change schedules with the academic calendar, T&P is pleased to be able to offer bus service from convenient remote parking at the Buckeye Lot to the University’s Medical Center area of campus on a consistent basis of 52 weeks per year. The Med Center Express will run M-F 5:30am – 1am year round, eliminating the need to make alternate parking arrangements during quarter breaks. The route has also been modified to create timed departure points from key stops which should help with planning your daily commute. The CX parking permit is half the price of a B permit, and buses running every 15 minutes during daytime peak hours (until 7pm) and every 30 minutes until 1am should provide a more convenient parking option.
"CP Permit Change
The “CP” permit has been divided into three different parking permits, which will be noted with the letter depicting the area (North, South and Towers) added to the CP prefix. Parking locations will be signed to correspond with these locations.
For overnight parking (defined as after 3am and until 5am M-F)
- CPN permit holders will be limited to the CP spaces on the north part of the campus, which for the 2008-09 academic year is limited to the lot next to Taylor Tower (76 spaces).
- CPS permits will be limited to the CP lots on south campus, which can be found between 11th and 10th Ave.
- CPT permit holders will be limited to the CP lots near the Lincoln and Morrill Towers, which can be found in the Sisson Hall lot off of Coffey Road.
In addition to these areas listed above, “CPN”, “CPS”, and “CPT” permit holders may also park in the “WC4” West Campus Carmack 4 lot overnight.

"CP" Permit Change (cont.)
During daytime hours (5:00AM – 3:00AM), all three “CP” permits may still park in any valid “C” or “WC” parking space, and after 4:00PM until 3:00AM, may also park in any unrestricted “A”, “B”, or “C” space. All “CP” lots will still be reserved from 6:00PM – 3:00AM for the “CP” permit designated for that area only.
Pay Machines!
By the end of August 2008, pay machines will be installed in several surface parking lots. These machines allow customers who do not have parking permits to purchase parking for a specified time and park in surface parking.
Customers insert coin or credit card into the machine and receive a temporary parking permit/receipt for the length of time paid (parking is $1/hour during weekday peak hours; a flat $3 after 6pm weekdays and all day on weekends). This permit must be displayed on the dashboard of the vehicle.
More information about the pay machine locations can be found on our campus map.
Three New Garages Under Construction
Three new parking garages are currently under construction, one of which is set to open in early 2009.
The new Ohio Union Garage, built south of the existing Ohio Union garage, will provide 800 new spaces and is slated to open early in 2009.
The Lane Avenue Parking Garage, located at the corner of Lane Avenue and Tuttle Park Place, will provide 1400 spaces in the central campus area. The garage will open early Winter Quarter 2010. A new Student Academic Services (SAS) building is also part of this construction project.
The new 9th Ave. East Garage, built east of the current 9th Ave. Garage, will provide 997 spaces in the Medical Center area. The garage will open Fall 2009.
