2009-2010 Policies and Procedures: Handivan Paratransit Service

DISABILITY PARKING (CONT.)

PARKING SPACE MARKINGS
The hashed area directly next to the designated disability parking space is considered to be part of the disability parking space; this area allows individuals with mobility impairments to enter/exit the vehicle. Vehicles found parking in these areas will be cited and may be towed.

HANDIVAN PARATRANSIT SERVICE
Handivan is an adapted transportation service provided for students, faculty and staff members, or visitors with temporary or permanent mobility impairments. This service transports wheelchair and ambulatory passengers door-to-door, both on and off campus, within University established boundaries. Handivans operate during the same hours as regular bus service. For more information or to schedule rides, please call 292-6122 or visit our web site.

A Handivan Rider request form must be completed in order to ride the Handivan. Forms may be requested by phone at 292-6202 or on our web site. Letters of correspondence, prescriptions, or other physician issued materials cannot be accepted in lieu of a completed form.

If you wish to be transported outside of the University established boundaries, you will need to contact COTA Mainstream at 228-1776 or by checking their web site.
