2011 FOOTBALL PARKING
RV Parking
Fans who park recreational vehicles, campers, and vans
must pre-purchase parking permits. RV permits go on sale at 10:00
a.m. on July 19, 2011 online through the Athletics Department website,
ohiostatebuckeyes.com.
These passes are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. For more
information about the sale, please click here.
There is no day-of-game RV parking. Spaces are all pre-assigned,
and the designated spaces are held for the permit holder until 90
minutes prior to kick off. RV parking lots open at 5:00am on the
day of each home football game. RV/campers with permits who arrive
before the lots open or RV/campers without a camper parking permit
may park at the Ohio
State Fairgrounds on a first-come, first-served basis. On game
days, COTA shuttles are available to provide transportation to the
campus before, during and after the football game.
Public Parking
Public parking is available in any “Day-of-Game”
lot on a first-come, first-served basis at a charge of $15 per vehicle
Any purchased current annual OSU parking permit will be honored
in day-of-game lots (except the Camper/RV parking lots) at NO CHARGE.
Valuecards, temporary single or multi-day permits are
not valid for football parking. Public parking fees
help defray costs of campus traffic control and security. Please
see the 2011
Football Parking Map for parking lots and garages reserved for
season permit parking, OSU parking permits only, and day-of-game
parking. Parking lots tend to fill early on game days. If you are
going to the game, you should plan on arriving at least 1.5 - 2
hours prior to kickoff.
Other campus garages available for public parking include the Ohio
Union North, Ohio Union South, Arps Hall, Neil Avenue, South Cannon,
9th Avenue East, 9th Avenue West, 11th Avenue and 12th Avenue garages.
Other “Day-of-Game” parking lots include parts of the
Polo Field lot, Ag Campus lots, Buckeye lots at the Schottenstein
Center, and West Campus lots.
Disability Parking
Disability parking is located off Lane Avenue in the
North St. John Arena lot and in the Lane Avenue Parking Garage.
Lift equipped shuttles provide continuous service to and from these
locations to the east side of the stadium at Gate 22.
For access to the disability parking areas, prominently display
a valid disability permit and follow the officer's directions. All
spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis and require
that the registered owner of the state placard (along with the current
registration for the state disability placard) or OSU disability
permit be present in the car. A $15.00 parking fee or valid OSU
parking permit is required to park.
Working on Game Days
Parking lots tend to fill early on game days. It is
advisable to arrive on campus for work at least one hour prior to
your scheduled start time to ensure you have time to park and walk
to your building. You can park free of charge in any day-of-game
lot by displaying a purchased valid OSU parking permit.
If you work on Central Campus:
Approach campus from the east, utilizing High Street or Woodruff
Ave.
If you work in the Medical Center area:
Approach campus from the south, utilizing 3rd Ave, Neil Ave.,
or King Ave. Medical Center staff may park in the SAFEAUTO Hospitals
garage on every home football Saturday.
Parking Alternatives On Home Football Saturdays
Several alternatives are available to help Buckeye
fans avoid campus traffic on home football Saturdays. These options
are as follows:
For those fans parking on West Campus, a free
shuttle will provide continuous service beginning six hours before
kickoff continuing through one hour after the game. Shuttles pick
up and drop off fans at Mount Hall on West Campus and the Sisson
Hall footbridge located just west of Drake Union and Ohio Stadium.
Park at the Ohio Expo Center and ride the Central Ohio
Transit Authority (COTA) shuttle to campus. Avoid campus
football traffic with COTA’s parking and transportation
to and from all home football games. Park at the COTA Crosswoods
Park and Ride in Worthington for free or at the Ohio Expo Center
for $5. Then take COTA’s Express Service for just $5 both
ways. For more information, click here
or visit www.cota.com.
In partnership with Transportation & Parking Services, the
Pedal Instead Bicycle Valet Program provides
service during the Ohio State home football games. The bike corral
(where bicycles are stored during the game) is located on the
east end of the Woody Hayes Bridge on the south side of Woody
Hayes Drive. Please visit http://pedalinstead.org/
for more information.
